Upon successful completion of the course you will be able to dive worldwide and will have made the first step of your diving education... the best is yet to come! All of our courses include free gear hire during the course, dive manual, passport photos required for your international certification, your international PADI Diver Certification, dive tables and one day's free scuba hire (valued at $85) at successful completion of your course.

Prerequisites: Minimum 10 years old and have a current doctor's certificate for diving.

How long has it been since your last dive (we're not diving in hard hats anymore)? Feeling a little rusty or maybe a tad nervous about your next dive? If this is the case come by and get updated with new techniques, equipment and all that old stuff you learnt and have now forgotten or are a little rusty on.

Prerequisites: Minimum 10 years old and proof of certification as a scuba diver.

Cost: $165; Duration: Half a day

As a certified diver you have probably wondered what is the next step to take, maybe wanted to try something a little more adventurous or just wanted to expand your SCUBA diving knowledge. This one day course, consisting of 3 specialty dives of your choice (these need not include the core deep and underwater navigation dives of the advanced diver certification) is ideal for those with only limited available time or those who feel they are not ready to complete an Advanced Open Water Course. Similar to the Advanced Open Water Course, no formal classroom sessions exist.

Prerequisites: Minimum 12 years old and proof of certification as a scuba diver.

Cost: $360; Duration: 1 day

The sights one sees are limited as an Open Water or Adventure Diver. Have you ever wondered what you were missing or have been frustrated after being left behind because your certification and or experience was not high enough. This 2 day course enables certified divers to learn about diving in new conditions and to further skills learnt during their Open Water Certification. The course is an extension of your Open Water Training and can be conducted as early as the following day. Included in the course are 2 core dives (Deep diving and Underwater Navigation) and 3 electives. The course is a fun way to expand your diving education. No formal classroom sessions or exams are involved. If you are already a certified Adventure Diver the course will only take you 1 day to complete.

Prerequisites: Minimum 12 years old and proof of certification as a scuba diver.

Cost: $475; Duration: 2 days - commencing as an Open Water Diver
Cost: $325; Duration: 1 day - commencing as an Adventure Diver

A 3 day course modelled to develop your rescue skills and make you a confident diver, able to prevent and deal with problems both for yourself and for other divers. The course covers self rescue and diver stress, locating and surfacing unconscious divers, in water artificial respiration and victim removal from the water. A certification in First Aid and CPR is required with this course and can be obtained by completing any recognised First Aid Course.

Prerequisites: Minimum 12 years old and advanced scuba diver certification (or equivalent) with a certification in first aid.

Cost: $525; Duration: 3 days.

Chances are, you will not ever need to use the skills presented in this course. However, should you need to assist or provide emergency attention, you will have the knowledge to respond quickly and with confidence. The course covers essential resuscitation and CPR skills together with controlling bleeding, shock and basic first aid skills. This certification and more advanced medic training can be obtained throughout the country from Yacht Lifeline.

Reach new heights (sorry!! depths) as the highest level of recreational diver. The MSDT certification takes you through 5 specialty diver ratings on your way to this prestige title. Be challenged and take the plunge!!!

Prerequisites: Minimum 12 years old, 50 logged dives and proof of certification as a rescue diver (or equivalent).

Cost & duration: Dependent on student requirements.

This course is the first level to becoming a professional diver and is the minimum qualification needed worldwide to work as a dive guide. The course will teach you how to guide and supervise divers, how to assist instructors training students as well as fine tuning your diving skills to demonstration quality. In the classroom you learn about the diving environment, physics, physiology and the equipment associated with recreational diving. We offer full time internships as well as instruction to DSD Dive Master (where you can train others in the first steps of diving).

Prerequisites: Minimum 18 years old, 20 logged dives and proof of certification as a rescue diver (or equivalent).

Cost & duration: Dependent on prior dive experience and course of instruction to be undertaken.

If you are planning a gap year, you can become a kitesurf or diving instructor in New Zealand and fund your travels doing something you love, taking home a qualification that will last for life. We offer ten-week intensive kite surfing and diving courses to take you from beginner kitesurfer or diver to internationally recognised IKO kitesurf instructor or SSI dive instructor. You can even do both at the same time in a 17-week combined diving and kitesurfing instructor course - the perfect combination of sports for wind and no wind conditions. You should never be bored, or unemployed!
